Taping - Anklelock - inside
This form of taping is used when the ankle is slightly sprained. It protects against greater sideway twisting, but allows normal ankle movements. It can be used until it is possible to use the foot without any pain.

The foot is held in an angle of 90 degrees compared to
the lower leg while taping. (The same position if the person is standing): First 1 or 2 anchors are placed around the lower leg. The anchor must not be too close to the ankle joint - 15-20 centimeters distance would be fine. Take care not to wind the tape so tight that it stops the bloodstream. |
Next the tape is placed - starting on the outside of the lower leg. The tape is placed on the anchor and is let diagonally over the wrist of the foot and down to the Achilles' tendon | Then around the outside to the heel. |

At last the tape is pulled from the heel and up to the anchor on the inside of the lower leg. | As a finish a new anchor is placed over the old one in order to hold the taping in place. |
